Is it important to teach our kids their native language when living in a foreign country? PVP looks at the governments decision to cease funding on the Tupu and Folauga pacific language reading resources.

  1. C'mon Su'a, sounds like you've forgotten the fact Labour was in govt for 9 years and put this country through financial hardships. Still do not think this is nz govt's responsibility to fund native language programmes. C'mon! PI reps. wake up and smell the coffee!

  2. I think Su'a is right and good on you Su'a and Judy for bringing this issue to our attention. Our Samoan people need to stand up against this National dictatorship attitude. Anne Tolley does not know what she's talking about.

  3. This is serious stuff people! I kind of thinking we need to look at the broader picture here! The interviewer brought up a very good senario when she said, if we go to China, would we expect the govt of China to fund our native language programmes? Heck! they will tell us to get stuffed! I however, firmly believe it is our parents responsibility to teach our offsprings our native language.
